Post by leonl » Mon 12.22.2008 2:15 am

What I get is all of these

と今日
賭今日
徒今日

and whole bunch of other ones that make even less sense. I'm using vista ultimate if it helps

I mean Tokyo the city probably obvious, but There's no such thing as too much info

The city name is とうきょう not ときょう. That should solve your problem!

Wow I feel incredibly stupid, Thanks though. On a side note the romaji I was reading didn't indicate that the first o was a long vowel

That's the biggest problem with romaji in my opinion. The conventions on writing long vowels vary widely from system to system and person to person.

In fact, my passport says Kano on it, when it ought to be Kanou because I spelled it to match my husband's passport, since the Japanese passport authority apparently doesn't like spelling it with a "U" or an "H".

Yes one of the many evils of roumaji, romaji, roomaji , or the increasingly popular romanji yet to figure where that spelling actually came from. もうありがとうございますbecki-さん
