Chat for Mac users

Does anyone know how to get the chat to work on a mac laptop?
I read through the windows instructions and tried to translate them into mac terms but it didn't work.

You can use adium or psi, or even ichat.

In adium you go to add new account->Jabber, and then choose "register new account" after putting in USErNAME@thejapanesepage.com and a password (I think). Then you join the chat room, which should be something like "lounge@conference.thejapanesepage.com".

I don't have a Mac, so I'm really blind on this one.

Sorry, I was asleep. It looks like you've figured it out though. Which did you decide to go with, Adium? Psi? iChat?

For all of the mac users out there I use Adium for my chat client. Below are the steps I took to access the Chat Room.

Steps:

1. Click on File > Add Account > Jabber.

2. Next, in the "Jabber ID" input box type your User Name that you use to login to "thejapanesepage.com".

3. In the "Password" input box below type in your password you use for "thejapanesepage.com".

4. Next, click on the "Register New Account" button and confirm the info you typed is correct.

5. To join the Chat room click File > Join Group Chat.

6. In the "Chat Room Name" input box type "lounge"

7. In the "Server" input box type "conference.thejapanesepage.com"

8. Lastly, enter in your "thejapanesepage.com" password in the "Password" input box then click the "Join" button.

You might want to Sticky my tutorial for other people who have Mac's; it was SO frustrating for me to figure all of this out, so hopefully my instructions will help someone!

Good idea, but I don't think it belongs as a sticky in "Japanese Language Proficiency Test". Hm... "Problems" is probably the best place to sticky it.
