JLPT and Basic Kanji Book
Hi everyone,
I looked both on the forums and online, but couldn't find an answer.
Does anyone know how much of the kanji for JLPT3 is covered in the Basic Kanji Book series? That is, are all the 300 kanji covered in the first volume or some in the second as well?
(Sorry for the silly question. If someone knows the answer, it's good, otherwise I'll just check the books against a list of JLPT kanji.)
Thanks, Luca

Re: JLPT and Basic Kanji Book
I believe (I'll have to check tomorrow), the first book covers 250 kanji with both of the Basic Kanji books (1 and 2) cover 500 total.
I would be surprised if the two Basic Books didn't cover 99% of what would be found on the JLPT 3 book, but I can't say for sure.

Re: JLPT and Basic Kanji Book
Thanks clay,
Yes, you're right. I always get confused and think they cover 1000 kanji together. (The big 500 on the cover makes me always think it's the coverage of just one volume!
)
So I'll have to study both of them to (probably) cover the 300 required for JLPT3
Well, back to study ... I guess

Re: JLPT and Basic Kanji Book
Yeah, It is a little misleading. You would think the first book would cover all 500, but it is for the Basic series.

Just a heads up, I only ever finished Basic Kanji Book 1 and the Japanese Elementary school kanji, grades 1 and 2 through the Tadashii Kanji Kakitorikun game and managed to get a 365/400 on JLPT 3.

Thanks. I think I'll keep studying on the Basic Kanji Books simply because it's what I already have and then switch to more JLPT oriented books and exercises.
