Or someone getting gender sensitive over something that has nothing to do with gender. Purse is a bag for holding money. It can hold other things too, but that is its purpose. If the bag is for holding something other than money, it's not a purse, no matter who carries it.

Ya, it's just one of those areas where it sounds like some people are trying to hard to preserve their masculinity by simply changing the name, except that it's a bit more obvious than usual and therefore almost pathetic.

It's like given the choice between action figure, and boy doll, the naming gods thought "boy doll" sounded more masculine since it has the word "boy" in it.

Nowadays I go through the toiletries section and there are all kinds of "For Men" face scrubs, aftershaves, face lotion, and other skin care products, that I know are the exact same formulation as the "female" skin creams only they have less girly looking packaging. So now I'm waiting the "For Men" line of Eye shadows, and candy red lipsticks, and pink mini-skirts to go into production and get gobbled up by Joe Public. Because it's "For Men" it even says so on the label.

I hate to break it to someone, but the pistol grip on this pathetic assault rifle is just plain wrong. There is no rest for the thumb. Sorry, but it's obvious that rifle is for girls or boys who don't know how to shoot..

I was wandering about that thumb rest too. It doesn't look very confortable. Other than that I wouldn't know if the rifle is OK or piece of junk. Btw. it can't be just plastic, that would be silly? More like painted AR-15 i suppose.

Well, I'll be. Looks like it's not all plastic. but that pistol grip is still a weird one. I've never seen anything like that before. I was thinking it was an AR-15 that was reproduced in Hello Kitty plastic. If I was at the firing range, I'd only expect to see a girl using that.

Being the anti-conformist that I am, I'd so buy that gun if I were shopping for an assault rifle and saw it on the shelf. Somewhere back in highschool I stopped trying to impress people and instead sought to unimpress them with all my might. For some reason, being completely written off as a threat because I have an obviously fake plastic gun highly appealing.

We call them man bags in America too. Or messenger bags. Or murses. But if you saw what guys carry around in Japan, you could only ever call it a purse. I shopped around here for months looking for one non-effeminite enough for me to wear and never found one. I had to buy one in the states and bring it back with me. They are useful in Japan since their dollar and five dollar bills are coins, so your coin pouch is usually huge and weighty, annoying having that in your pocket. Plus I always carry around my elec. dic. and my studying and points cards for literally everywhere, it adds up fast. Japanese guys usually use something like a bum-bag (US fanny pack) but I haven't been able to make the switch yet, they look too much like tool belts (you can use whatever meaning of the word 'tool' that works for you).
