Re: Pics thread 〜2〜
Seeing as this thread is alive and kicking again, here's a picture of me (at 7 months pregnant, I could almost be a sumo myself!) and Yokozuna, Asashoryu. I took it at the Osaka sumo tournament yesterday. This picture is just a cutout, but I did get to meet Asashoryu and shake his hand and I wanted to brag about it to all of you guys.

Awww, you shouldn't have spoilt the illusion for me
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

It really is! I go to the Osaka tournament every year since it's so close to home and I've been to a few exhibition tournaments as well. The exhibition tournaments are actually more fun because you can meet and talk to the wrestlers, shake hands, get autographs etc. Many of the wrestlers are very friendly and happy to talk, some even asked me questions about the States etc. Anyone who gets a chance to go to an exhibition tourney should jump on it, in my opinion.

I've always wanted to see sumo live. Is it awfully expensive to get tickets (I'm not opposed to sitting in the nosebleeds)?

There is a huge range of prices. The seats way down in front are hard to get (you have to apply through a teahouse) and can cost upwards of ¥50,000, whereas you can get nosebleed seats for ¥3,000 in advance, or ¥2,000 on the day, if there are any left. Even if you get really cheap seats though, you can go down in front and sit there until the real seat owners arrive. And usually the people who buy the most expensive seats don't come until late in the afternoon, while the tournament begins at 9:00 AM.

Re: Pics thread 〜2〜
When I was a kid, I had a Skipper, a Skooter en a Rikkie.
(according to my mum I didn't like Barbie, which is probably true, as I still don't really do ^^)
My dad made me this box and one time, when he had to go to Japan for work (and experienced a minor earthquake), he brought me this wonderful kimono for my Skipper.
Needles to say, I was proud as can be:

As you can see, my mum has kept these with great care ^^

<edit/> Thanks for your mail, Kat. Don't worry, I understand those are very precious collection, your mom did a good job keeping them in good condition. Won't let your mom slaughter you.
Do you know Bettina Dorfmann has collected nearly 6030 barbie dolls? I've been following her news all the time and glad to share this webpage with you. She is my idol!!
