Is this correct?
I need help to correct myself, I have dyslexia so excuse my English phrases also.
Did I write this correct? I do not wanna send any Japanese to a real Japanese that sounds weird.
In Japanese:
日本ではどこから来たのか?
才能に恵まれた画家あなたは。はあなたの芸術のように。
最近、何を行うか?何でも楽しいですか?私は、アマチュアの画家です。
What it is suppose to be in English:
Where in Japan are you from?
You are a talented painter. I like your art.
What have you done recently? Did you have fun?
I am just an amateur painter.

Re: Is this correct?
It sounds like you ran it through a computer translator, which jumbled it up horribly and created a paragraph that makes no sense.
Is that what happened?
Is that what happened?

I will translate the sentences above;
日本のどこから来たのですか?
素晴らしい絵の才能をお持ちですね。私はあなたの絵が好きです。
最近はどんなことをしましたか?面白かったですか?
私も趣味で絵を描いています。

I do not use freaking translators, not after I saw how the messed up Swedish.
I simply used some Japanese books and a Kanji dictionary that was created by a Japanese.

Re: Is this correct?
Akibei's a native speaker, so there's no reason to think it isn't correct.

失礼しますが。。。I'm curious, who are you addressing? A teacher? A professional artist? Or a friend? If the person is someone you haven't meet before or a 目上 = someone of superior status, I wouldn't use informal speech.
Just my 2 cents. *bows*
