The Thread that Attracts People

I just wonder why so many people(608) viewed that thread. Only 71 people viewed the attachment file.

Was that title fascinating?

You don't actually have to open the attached file to view it, so that accounts for the low count there I think.

And people who go into a translation thread are usually expecting something short to help someone with, not "Translate the whole song for me". Personally, I opted to just not respond at all, or I was going to say something mean. :/

I found that each post, including OP, of a thread in TJP gained 30-50 views during the first week in general.

Therefore, I assumed around 120 was a normal number of views for the thread. It doesn't seem to have contents people want to re-read except for the attachment file. It doesn't seem to have a specific keyword which people tend to search with search engines.

Those are reasons I was wondering.

I think most people are interested in what is 'wanted' to be translated, and then to see if they have the ability to translate it.

I looked and when it was obvious to me the OP wanted us to do all the work, I posted up that they should do some work and then post that up. I think I looked at the thread 3 or 4 times total, and nothing was ever updated by the OP..

I was one of those who clicked on the thread to try their own abilities.
I gave it a try, then gave up, then forgetting why I gave up gave it another try, then gave up. Repeat that a few times ...

I didn't notice that. Yes! It can spur you to click it more than once.
I will watch a thread with a generic title from now on.

But even so, over 660 is too many. (I clicked it more than 7 though. )

I come to think that some people happened to drop there through a search engine with keywords "translation" "Japanese" "English".
