Re: 加納麟太朗
Congratulations to you too, Porkchop! Pretty overwhelming,eh?
Astaroth- You asked about stroke count. I think that a lot of people still check the stroke count before they choose the name, but they don't usually decide *based* on the stroke count. My husband and I personally don't believe in it, but he thought it would make his parents happy if we at least checked it, so we did. I don't know exactly how it's supposed to work, but we checked a little book and apparently the total stroke count of 麟太郎 is not as lucky as 麟太朗。Also 朗らか is a great word, and we want our little guy to be bright and cheerful.
Jim- I wondered if you'd notice I was putting in a bunch of maternity/labor vocab. It should be useful for any other foreigners giving birth over here tough, I hope!

I've always thought of the name numerology to be pretty comparable to western astrology.
Putting whether or not you believe in it aside, there are so many factors that go into the numerology that it's almost mind numbing.
We had an (amazing) numerologist who's a friend of the family go over my wife and I's names, when we were deciding who would take whose surname. I also found out that I should write my name as KEITH ・PERHAC for the best results in my life, but I'm a lazy bugger, so I just keep writing my name as is.

Belated congratulations Beki-san. I trust both mother and baby are doing well.
Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

Thanks
Yeah, his fussy time starts around when I get home from work and goes until after I go to bed.
Kinda nerve wracking to deal with all that screaming when I'm trying to relax after a hard day at work.
