Your Japanese sentence is correct except for しっている, which should be しています. The final verb should be polite because the verb you use in the middle of the sentence is polite too.

For me this is a tough one as I was raised speaking Japanese by my mother, but as I attended school on US army bases around the world I had to speak English, so Japanese was replaced by English. In college, I went back to using Japanese because my roommate was from Shiga-ken and girlfriend was from Okayama. I have lived for the past 17 years after marrying my Japanese girlfriend in college and have been teaching English for a living while using Japanese for daily life. Sooo, what should my answer be?
