Cause they use trucks, and the trucks are yellow.

トラックはどうして黄色いの?
それは信号機と同じ理由・・・・
Sorry. Any thoughts of yellow combined with thoughts of Japanese result in me thinking of that damn banana song.

If you're talking about クロネコ you're mistaken about the color of the trucks.
By coincidence, as I was listening to some Fibber & Molly today the episode in which we first hear about Teeny's male dog named "Margaret" came up. It is the November 14, 1939 broadcast. (I know nobody cares....I'm leaving this as a note for myself).
Never underestimate my capacity for pettiness.

It's the most funny drama I have seen. Abe Hiroshi plays brilliantly. And yeah, one character has a dog called Ken(though it is supposedly the name of the exbf)

Yay! I love him as well. I am currently watching Egao no Hosoku myself. Takeuchi Yuko and Hiroshi Abe, both my favourite Japanese actors.

Really? Wow... I thought the trucks were yellow, and the kitty logo black. Or am I only thinking of their signs?

It is just the sign. The trucks are beige and green.

I love the picture you use as an example.
When I went looking, this is the one I found:
