I dunno about you, but my shopping lists are barely legible. I'm writing as a mnemonic not for spelling. Sometimes, I'll just draw a squiggly line that looks like a scribble, but really means "pasta" to me. Just about everything is abbreviated, truncated, or otherwise apparently. HP = buy another harry potter movie.

I can't believe you take the time to write in kanji... especially for hachimitu.

I guess it's good to practice as much as possible, anything, at any time!!
Becki, your hand-writing isn't that bad, I mean, it is legible.

Yeah, if it was for me, I'd write it in English too, 'cause I'm just as lazy as the next guy (or gal) but it was for my husband to take to the store with him, so I wrote it in Japanese.

Re: Kanji Handwriting Thread
I sometimes write a few items on my shopping list in Japanese, just for fun! I'm basically lazy too! And sometimes the Japanese word takes less time to write than the English. Also, I write 'secret' things in Japanese - things that I don't want other people in the house to read, for example, チョコレート!!
I'm not supposed to eat it!

So nice and organised, looks really good!
Here's mine, it was supposed to be used for some kind of research for handwriting but it was not heard from afterwards.

Endo-san, may I ask you a question?
If you are not from China, I assume you have had 書道 lessons before. Probably using 筆.
Correct?

NileCat-san
Born and raised in The Netherlands so ABC all the way. But I did have 書道 lessons before using 筆 and continued till I was advised to start learning 草書 before I quit, and yes it does contribute to your writing and understanding natural strokes of a character. You can tell?
Btw, can I ask you a question in return, can you tell the difference (or is there) between Kanji/Hanzi written by Japanese and Chinese?

Re: Kanji Handwriting Thread
Thanks, Endo-san.
What interested me was that your stroke order was perfectly accurate, which is very rare and I was kind of impressed.
Good work!
EDIT:
I'll write my answer to your question in the next post.

Thanks a lot (嬉しい)!
I do practise a lot when I'm learning vocab I always write it out lot of times, but I still can write like chicken scratch if i'm really sloppy haha.
I meant Hanzi(漢字) as in chinese for Kanji.
