New York again
Hi everbody,
Well, we visited NYC this July (my nephew and me) and I've decided I've got a lot of unfinished business with The Big Apple, so I gladly made use of the ridiculously low airfares and treated myself to another ticket for May 2010
and since I've become totally addicted to browsing the net for accommodation, I ran into this fascinating little place, a 10 minute subway ride to downtown Manhattan (is it downtown??)

The Tripadvisor community is cynical about this place, as it's all Japanese and not much English (if any) info can be found. Also, the place is not listed in the usual places to find B&B's and hotels....
But maybe this Japanese-market only is not so unusual?
I have found a fair amount of Japanese reviews about this place, mostly positive.
This blog being one of the more recent entries:

I'm thinking it would be a great opportunity to combine a visit to NYC and practising my Japanese....
What do you people think?

If I'm reading that right, the hostel is near the BAM in Flatbush, Brooklyn and close if not in Brooklyn downtown. It's pretty close to downtown Manhattan, roughly 15 minutes by train.
It's a pretty nice neighborhood and I didn't know there were any Japanese communities down there, most of the Japanese shops and places I know of are in the East Village and around the UN, both in Manhattan (though definitely not downtown).

Well, it's a B&B, I don't know if it's a 'community'
BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese bookshops in New York!
