Wow! It's a year since someone has started a thread on this topic.

My favorite Japanese...
Drinks: 日本酒 Sake & 焼酎 Shochu

I prefer shouchuu to sake and I like my chicked grilled rather than simply skewered

I love rice balls with pickled plum in the middle rapped in nori. OISHI!!! And dried cuttle fish.

I haven't eaten that much Japanese in my life yet, but I daresay that I like green tea and veggie sushi. I especially like maki sushi with cucumber and maki sushi with pea pod. Soy sauce is nice too.

I like just about everything when it comes to Japanese food. It's so hard to pick a fave. Probably salmon sushi or tempura udon, or gyouza or miso soup. Hmmmm... I'm feeling hungry now

Yea so many favorites, but among the favorites:

just about any 〜丼 (katsudon, oyakodon, tendon, gyudon etc.)
コロッケ (korokke, Japanese style deep fried croquette with potato and cheese inside)
唐揚げ (karaage, yea nothing beats fried chicken)
お好み焼き (okonomiyaki, love the smoky flavor!)
and veggie天ぷら (tempura, I just love fried stuff)
oh and 茶碗蒸し！(chawan mushi, always a surprise when you get to the bottom!)

oops forgot one of the most important ones: fatty tuna sashimi! <--- so gooood!

don't get confused and think all Japanese food is fish.. Quite far from it actually.. open your horizons and do some food research...

豚バラ wins hands down, anyday!
Okonomiyaki, Tamagoyaki, Gyudon, Kareage.

And probably most of the stuff you get in your local Izakaya, not the chain ones like Tarafuku.
