Strange 変換

I forgot my IME was in Japanese mode and started typing without looking. I entered "bones " and when I looked up I saw "骨s"

Ah, same here on my mac.
But is it because bone is ほね, and apparently ぼね works as well and if you just put in 's' then it will just keep the 's' as is? Right?
