Me, Is the Culture and the Food. I think its all fanstastic and I love everything about Japan. If you want to see a good movie Rent KIKUJIRO, best movie ever. But i got the biggest passion about learning japanese and im only 15 and i know im gonna stick to it! So whats you peoples story?[mail][/mail]

I'm going to fly to japan in two years for some month,and maybe i will live there.It's the perfect world for me:)

well, I'm into japanese because first of all, its way more challenging then french or italian because you need to learn a whole new alphabet. other than that I love the culture, the food(yum!), and the anime and manga.

for me it's a part of my multi-language studying
i know it sounds wierd and freaky but i love studying foreign languages, and japanese has been in my list for a long time.
now that i graduated i have a lot of free time to study japanes and my goal is to study for a year or two and then move to japan for some time and take the JLPT

I want to learn Japanese so much. Mostly becuase the language sounds so cool when spoken and plus i want to go to Japan (specificaly, Tokyo) I mean, wouldnt it be cool if you went to, like, a Puffy Ami Yumi concert and actualy knew what they were saying!? =) but anyways... O-genki desu ka?:D

I wanted to learn Japanese, for reasons currently unknown to me. I didn't know why or what I'd do until after I started learning. I figured I'd broaden my horizons, but that can't be the only reason. I'll probably move there during college as a study abroad student, get married and have an excuse to stay there.

In short, I don't know.

6 months ago I took a japanese class cuz I needed two
more credit hours that semester in order to keep my
free insurance . I immediately loved japanese, but
not my instructor who was a native japanese speaker.
She used romanji #1, kept on and on about how
english was stupid and it seemed like she was teaching
us "business man's japanese". btw our book was Japanese
for busy people, which is ok, but it was slim on grammer.
The last thing I want is to look like a "stupid american".
So , I headed down to borders, grabbed some books,
and studied nihongo on my own

A long time ago when I was a wee lad, I lived in Japan for almost two years. I was too young to learn much, but I still remebered the basics. I had always wanted to learn more during my free time, but never really got around to starting until this year when an incredible girl *wink wink* who I had recently become friends with, who is fluent in four languages because she like to learn them, told me I should learn some more. As far as I know we're the only people in the school who know more than "konichiwa" or "sake". It's like a secret language and makes me feel super cool and special and all that.

i dont know how or why, but i am really in to asian culture and language. especially japanese. i love to learn new languages, even though im not to smart, and cant remember a lot of stuff... (not very good for learning languages) but ya. i really like their culture and how they became so much more advanced than the U.S. after opening their country back up. i am curently learning Spanish (in school), Hmong (from friends) and Japanese from a book. so ya. this site helps a lot.
