sentence construction: which is correct?
I posted this a few hours back in the shoutbox but figured this is the more appropriate place to ask:
Hi, can anyone can tell me if 「彼はかなり英語が上手です」 is more correct or 「彼は英語がかなり上手です」 ? Or is either equally acceptable? Thanks

I saw it there, and I see it here... unfortunately I'm just a newbie.
So while I want to help, I really can't.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable notices soon and gives you a proper answer.

@phreadom : Thanks (anyway) for your fast response, although I was somewhat surprised to hear you say you're a newbie at the language, since I see you being pretty active in the forums.
Okay, so I got curious and took a look at some of your posts... must say you did a slick job with the poetic phrase attempt
@Harisenbon : Thanks
I guess if I thought in English (which I know I shouldn't do) I'd be more comfortable with the second construction. So thanks for the clarification that both sound fine.

Well, it's partially due to the fact that I just have poor study habits....
and partially due to the fact that I spend so much time taking care of the site and doing related web development etc that my Japanese studies tend to stall...
I'm making progress, but very slowly.

Re: sentence construction: which is correct?
I'm just new, so i'll try what i know in English....
Well, I saw it there is acceptable... I see it here is not....
But one thing, here and there are different in meanings....
"there" expresses that it is far from you...
"here" expresses that it is just beside you or near you...
That's all! Hope i help you a bit....
