Good luck today!
Today is the JLPT test day for most locations I believe, so let's wish all the test takers the best of luck!

Re: Good luck today!
1 kyuu, pretty well!
I had a lot of fun taking this test, except for the reading (could they had picked anything denser to read???)
Vocab: Easy! I only had to guess 3 questions
Listening: The question with the kids and the triangles and circles messed me up a little, but otherwise easy, and also quite amusing. (old JLPT is going out with a bang and fanservice)
Reading: HARD
Grammar: Easy again. A lot of unusual grammar stuff mentioned in kanzen master grammar was on it, but I think I did pretty well.
Assuming I score my usual 80-90 in listening, and I did as well as I think I did for vocab (75-80), I'm guessing that I've passed the test. I know I scored at least a 70 for the reading& grammar, even though I was struggling through a lot of the reading questions.

I was less concerned with the difficulty and more annoyed by the sociopolitical agenda. Individualism versus collectivism, consumption and capitalism, blah, blah, blah. Past tests have had more varied and more interesting reading than this year.

The way I understood it is the child watering the plants is at the top of the triangle, with the child carrying buckets of water and the child watching were helping (the latter by staying out of the way) and get placed at the bottom of the triangle. The child playing with the faucets (ADHD?) had nothing to do with the other children and got her own little circle.
I zoned out on the voodoo dolls question. I think I got about as far as the one with stumpy legs before I realized I just didn't care.
You're probably not as smart as you think.

Re: Good luck today!
Oh boy, I just finished checking my answers to the ones on the net (at least, those I think I remember....) and the results are worse than I feared....
Totally messed it up again and now I'm going to drown my sorrow with coffee.....
If anyone wants a link to the answers, feel free to PM me....
EDIT:
Oh, I think answers for level 4 are not online yet...as soon as I spot them, I'll edit again....

Re: Good luck today!
Thought rather than create another thread I'd just update this one.
How are everyone's results looking?
I finally passed 1kyuu, a fairly narrow margin 300/400 precisely. But a pass is a pass I guess. I only scraped by in the reading/grammar, I think the choubun questions probably rained on my parade a little there. I really wish they would break up the reading and grammar sections so that I had a fairer idea of how I scored.

Wow 95%??! Awesome!
All of my friends who took the test must've done badly, as they all seem to have gone into hiding. I haven't heard from any of them since they would've received the test results

Congratulations to Reft!
The hard copy result slips might take a while to reach different destinations. I would expect mine to be here in another 2 weeks' time or early March. Very nervous right now.

Ah, good point, I'd totally forgotten the time lag across different countries
Shame it can't be the same everywhere. Good luck with your results
