Miyamoto Musashi (1954)
When Akemi is dying, and Otsu is is saying something that is translated as "Brace Up", I been trying to figure out what she is actually saying.
It sounds to me like しかえして, but I believe my ears are deceiving me.
Could anyone familiar with the movie, post a correction for me, so I can add this word to my vocabulary?

Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about.

I appreciate the quick response, after reviewing the scene, I can make that out now, and it makes much more sense now that I know what the word means. It would have been better translated as something like "Steady now,... steady". My dad and I were both scratching our heads when that popped up as "brace up", lol.

Those are great movies. I have them on DVD now, but I first watched them during my college days on worn out VHS tapes obviously rented one too many times.
