Re: 新神
Coco and Writebook thank you very much.
Although I think there's a misunderstanding. With the word "God = divine" I did not mean "the God of Christianity (religion), it would have been cleaner to write 神 = Kami = something which refers also to the concept of " divine ", I did not specified it, I'm sorry.
@ Coco : There is not even a really context I think. :
As I said before, my karate sensei was thinking about a name for a martial art association. Then he suggested Shin Kami some time ago. He told me that Shin Kami could be translated in Italian as "spirito divino" and in English "divine spirit"; thinking the 神 as the Japanese divinities. So now the point turns around "spirit", my karate sensei has never studied Japanese and he did not think about 精, 魂(maybe) etc, for the word "spirit". He thought only about "Shin" = 心.
And that's all.
Now I wonder : 心 = spirit, can it be?
Here is what my dictionary says about 心>
心【こころ】
(n) mind, heart, spirit, (P)
Dou omoimasuka?
Thanks for reading,
Bye

Yes, 心 is used as "spirit".
(神 also has a meaning as "spirit".)

Re: 新神
It seems that the definition of the words is clear now.
The thing is that if 心神 sounds weird to average Japanese people as a name of a karate association, isn't it?
I personally think it seems fine. I don't find it weird or strange.
The following is an imaginary newspaper article I made up.

今年イタリアで新しく設立された空手協会「心神」事務局長のミナライさんは、本紙のインタビューに答えて流暢な日本語でこう語った。
「この名前は、イタリア語で "spirito divino" すなわち『精神的神性』を意味しています」

Perfect!! Now everything works good and I don't have any questions more. Thank you for being patient with me
@Nilecat : newspaper article o yomimashita. omoshirokatta desu
@Coco :
That's right. In Italy (and not only here) there are a lot of Karate Association and each of them has its name. Our Association will be soon named "Shin - Kami" now. Although, my sensei did not though to create a new martial art called Shin Kami.
See you soon
ありがとうございました。
