Re: Changes afoot... ;)
Phreadom:
Something I've never understood, and am hoping you can explain:
When I click on "show new posts," it DOES show the new posts -- but it also shows a whole bunch of posts that I've already looked at, or skipped over. Basically, on every other forum I'm on, when I click "show new posts" it only shows the posts that are new since the LAST time I was on the site; but here, it shows stuff for the last couple of days regardless.
Why is that?

Maybe try just the "view unread posts" link instead? The "view new posts" link will show you all the new posts since you last signed out and signed back in. Since you and I both are basically on here all the time and the session time out is so long... and I think there is a cookie set which keeps you signed in anyway... you're never actually really signing out are you? If you fully sign out and sign back in, the New Posts list will be empty until someone posts something new.
I'm not sure if this helps at all.. but that's how I understand it.

I'll try that next time.
It just strikes me as weird.

Re: Changes afoot... ;)
I used a Group blog function about two years ago.
However, I can't find the way to create a Group blog in a current structure(?).
http://thejapanesepage.com/og
How can a member create a group blog page?
Thanks in advance.

I'm having error messages once in awhile here n' there. When I first enter Wikipedia it shows the new design, but as soon as I log-in it shows the previous design.General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]
Too many connections [1040]
An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.
Etc...
We're monitoring this. Let us know if you see it again.
Thanks. (I've cut the session times in half and Rackspace has an automatic monitor keeping an eye on the queries etc to see if we start having trouble again.)coco wrote:I used a Group blog function about two years ago.

I'm looking into this... I guess I completely overlooked the fact that there doesn't appear to be a way to add groups anymore.

I'll update this post when I find out more. Thanks for pointing it out!

Cocoさん,
http://thejapanesepage.com/node/add
Registered users can create groups there. You can reach that page by clicking the "Create and post..." link on the upper left, and then click "Create Group" to create a new group.
Sorry I had it set so that only administrators could create new groups.
Let me know if you have any more questions about it.
Hopefully people don't abuse the ability to create new groups (too much).
We'll have to keep an eye on it and see if we need to lock parts of it back down again.
