Translation Question そんな彼が

Post by Breakingchina » Tue 06.15.2010 10:47 am

The phrase I want to translate is: そんな彼が れたしの代用品を欲しがつたのは当然のゆきだつた

I can roughly translate some of the parts:
He was my substitute

I think it's talking about using somebody for evil purposes or changing somebody

I could be completely wrong!

Thankyou in advance! <3

I don't see the complete sentence... all I've got is the そんな彼が part...

That's maybe:

そんな彼が私の代用品を欲しがったのは当然のなりゆきだった。

Neverthless, in this sentence, the meaning of "私の代用品" is unclear without the context.
"My substitute goods" would be the translation. 代用品 is not usually used for a person unless it is meant to be sarcastic.
Can you feed us the context or the source? Thank you.

EDIT:
Literally translated, that sentence roughly means "It was a reasonable thing to happen that he (a person like him) wanted to get my substitute".
