I already know how to read kana but don't have the minimum clue on how to and where to start on kanji.
Any help will be gladly appreciated and looking forward to make friends here =)

hrm... there are probably a lot of different suggestions that people would give you as to how to start learning kanji. I personally just started drilling the first 80 or so to memorize their meanings.
You might try digging around in http://thejapanesepage.com/kanji and see what you can learn. Specifically the 4kyuu kanji (which are now most of the JLPT N5 level (the easiest) since the JLPT switched from 4 levels to 5 levels this past December by adding a new level in the middle to bridge the gap between 3 and 2. (1 is the hardest level)) http://thejapanesepage.com/node/kanji/kanji4.htm
Anki can be useful to drilling things and to make sure you don't forget etc. I even wrote a little article about how to use some useful features of it for initial drilling to learn the kanji and vocabulary etc.
Good luck and let us know if you have any questions!
