QUESTION! :)

Post by rachxo » Mon 10.18.2010 1:06 pm

Hi! I have a question regarding this sentence below:

「すごく長い列だね。あんなに並んでいるということは、おいしいのかな。」

The use of iu koto confuses me a little. Can someone please help explain? Thank you so much.

Hi rachxo, in this case we can translate ということは as "since it's", "means", etc...

「すごく長い列だね。あんなに並んでいるということは、おいしいのかな。」
What a big queue! The store must be really good since they got that big!

Literally:
What a big queue,uh?
Lining up like that, it's sounds delicious..
