Time-Warner. After the preview, though, it's about $9/month additional, so I'm absorbing as much as I can in this short time.

Say what? I'm paying $26/mo with Comcast, which seems about on par with other cable providers, including Time-Warner according to http://www.tvjapan.net/en/watching/cabletv_result.php?list=true&country=USA. Are you sure that's not just a temporary rate? If not, I'm soooo jealous.

TV Japan is actually pretty enlightening. Lotsa NHK stuff, especially the News broadcasts, and documentaries, kids' educational programs, etc. Not necessarily so much of what some people think of when they hear the words "Japanese Television", especially when they've been to Japan (which I haven't, so I can only speak from impressions/second-hand information).

Anyway, it's a great way to ensure that I always have some way to immerse myself in the spoken language.

TV Japan is actually pretty enlightening. Lotsa NHK stuff, especially the News broadcasts ....

The NHK news is broadcast on free to air TV here twice a day, 0500 on SBS 1 and 1045 on SBS 2. I sometimes record it and watch it for listening practice.
