Trick is my absolute favorite. A Million Stars Falling From the Sky was very good, but very sad. I enjoyed Gokusen, but Gokusen 2 isn't as good. I tried watching The Sleeping Forest but couldn't get into it.

I like Gokusen. It's funny. Actually, I've just started watching the first one, but I haven't seen the second. Also, Hana Yori Dango is good too. I think it's better than the anime version.

HYD drama is from Korea, if I'm not mistaken. >_> (Called "Meteor Garden" right?)
I saw a couple espisodes of "Orange Days" and thought it was pretty neat. Not only was I practicing my listening, but I could learn some Japanese sign language (shuwa) as well! :D

On TV at the moment is a sad story called 1リットルの涙 (1 Litre of Tears). And although this might be seen as a girly drama, I'm really enjoying it. Its based on a true story, and now I want to buy a related book.
Also, an extremely funny drama now is 鬼嫁日記 (Demon Bride Diary?). If you can, i recomend you watch them. hehe Tuesday from 9pm on Fuji terebi

I mostly get into jidai geki. (I'm a Japanese historian, what can I say?
)
But I've recently gotten hooked on "Tokumei Kakarichou Tadano Hitoshi."

for those of you in the united states, what channel do you get JDramas on or what stores rent/sell them?

Via satellite you can subscribe to TV Japan, which features NHK programming, for about $25 a month. If you live anywhere near a Korean video store or a Korean grocery with a video section, they often have some JDramas in addition to the KDramas.

My favorite is H2- 君といた日々. I got really caught up in the suspense of it. Other jdramas which I enjoyed are ドラゴン桜、電車男、世界の中心で愛をさけぶ、1リットルの涙、 野ブタをプロデュース。The first one I watched was 電車男 and that got me hooked on jdramas.

I love jidai-geki, especially Abarenbo-Shogun and Toyama no Kinsan. I was so sad the Abarenbo-Shogun series was finally over
I usually don't watch dramas, but I liked Furikaereba yatsu ga iru, an old drama about doctors.
