That joke doesn't translate into Australian or British English. I only know what "ground beef" is because I lived in the USA for a time. I don't believe that term is used outside of North America.

I'm pretty sure that's the joke, but it doesn't seem to rely on an untranslatable quality.

(By which I mean it isn't necessarily funny in Japanese -- I wouldn't know -- but it seems comprehensible, though the translation seems overly literal.)
