I'm currently taking Japanese in my college. We're using the Genki series and we are up to lesson 7. I've got to go now, but be prepared for many questions and conversations!

Not sure that が works there, New York came.

ニューヨークから来ます。- [I] come from New York. (来ます = きます)

OK, so where are you now?

ニューヨークに住んでいます。- [I] live in New York. (住んで = すんで, from すむ)

私はニューヨークに住んでいます。 I forgot about すむ for a little bit. This just drives home the point I need to use my Japanese more.
