Re: Need feedback on possible new forum smilies. :)
Sorry for the necroposting, but I was wondering whether there were any news about possible new emoticons. Just today I realized there is no crying smily ... which I kinda miss it ...

I forgot to get back to looking at re-implementing the older phpbb emoticons.
Maybe I'll look to see if there is a good expanded set that includes a crying one, as I was just missing that recently myself.

Here's a crying one: (;_・)
I kinda like the Japanese facemarks. Here's one I need: d(-_^)good!!
Too abstract, aren't they...... But they're -- so cool!
This is my favorite. It's called "(shoe)slipper attack" ( ・_・)⌒°=θ☆( >_<) パコ

Anyone can type the text smilies they want, but the smilies discussed in this thread are the graphical ones available on the right when you make a post.

I like emoticons but I would probably use them rather irregularly.
I ¿liek? the drinking coffee emote, and personally I like a bit of ¿cutesy?.

What is even funnier is that you revived a six month old thread to comment on Tony-san's "Thread Revive" image which was posted in response to a revival of this thread which, at the time, had been dead for seven months.
Is that ironic?

Haha, I just spent the last 35 minutes looking at animated icons and rereading the older posts...until I noticed a lot of '2009' in the post date. Should have started at the end ><

That's fine, nothing wrong with revisiting older threads...
In fact I was just looking through some other threads earlier today and was reminded of some older ideas I'd wanted to work on for the site.

While the argument against it may be quite strong and the proponents are quite weak, I find that these could express many feelings not so finely expressed in our tong, without giving rant about our emotions.
[Corrections: ranting was changed to giving a rant, because ranting is such contrived expression.]
I don't understand these cacophonous terms. What wordstock ha'e I created.
and what meaning could they possess?
having learned more of other spæchs, I can most certainly conclude that ‘liek’ could not possible mean anything similar to ‘like’ and cutesy obviously of a wordstock so vail only the devil himself, would dare to speak it. The form of like, I marked in red; clearly does not show delight.
This paradoxical cacophony of sounds must be a curious tong. for I have not understood a single word even though I have spoken it, and typed it very personally.
I apologise for writing with wrong punctuation, for this can be very confusing.
addendum: This is not middlespæchs, but rather an attempt to avoid awkward constructs, and to speak a more authentic english. As for the word Spæchs, it just seamed sensible to invent a term based on our germanic roots for such a simple concept.
addendum 2:Yes I really do delight in anglish tong.
