Sad news about SS.

It is with great regret that I inform the TJP community of the loss of our friend SS.

She passed away April 16th from complications from a viral infection. I know some of her friends here were growing worried about her due to not hearing from her for a few weeks. I'd emailed her a few days ago to make sure she was ok and finally received an email back from her family tonight letting me know what happened.

I wasn't sure whether or not to write this, but I know that a lot of people liked her and I thought they should know.

I'm in shock. I can't believe it. I know she hasn't been around for a while and hasn't answered my facebook messages. I just thought she was busy. I had no idea she was sick.

She was such a kind, thoughtful person. I'm going to miss her. I had planned to visit her on the way to Japan sometime in the future.

I was very shocked to hear it. I'd known she had been sick and in and out of the hospital a bit, but I never saw this coming. She seemed so young and vibrant. I'm definitely saddened by the loss... for all of us.

I am terribly sorry to hear this. She's been a very good TJP member since 2005, and devoted herself greatly into Japanese study.

It's very shocking to have lost a dear friend so young. My sincere condolences.

I'm utterly shocked. Like (I expect) most of the people on TJP, I only knew SS through the internet, but her fun, hardworking, and most of all kind personality was unmistakeable. Personally I didn't know you well, but I will never forget you SS.

Like a lot of people here and on FB, I had noticed she has been very absent for a while now.....but I had never imagined something this sad had happened...!

I'm really shocked to learn such a young and incredibly positive and gentle person has passed away so quietly...

SS was a very fine friend. we had kept in touch over the years, often chatting for hours. she sent me pictures of her trips and tea and cookies and a cute little doll that guards my bookshelf. truly sad news.

Shirley was with me in the jlpt4 chat group, we were in the jlpt3 group, we spent a lot of time in chat, did subtitiles together, exchanged books ... and more I knew her more I liked her great kindness and sweetness. I'll miss you a lot...
