Japanese food ideas?

My cousin offered to have my girlfriend and I over to visit him and his wife in about a week and a half, and since he enjoyed cooking and trying to make Japanese food etc, he asked me to choose a meal for him to make.

But... I've been having a very hard time picking something. Can anyone offer me some suggestions for tasty food to have him try making? Maybe include pictures or links etc so we can see what it looks like and get an idea what's in it etc?

My wife and I, mainly my wife, makes Katsu. The link is for someone's recipe for their chicken version, though we use pork. You can do a Google search on how to make the sauce. Tempura would definitely be my default choice as well.

Something made with soba and some sort of meat is good, too.

So many choices!!

I might just ask him to pick whatever sounds best to him (easy enough to make), since he said that a couple of the choices were too difficult to prepare... I like the sound of a lot of these which is why I'm having such a hard time choosing. (he is reading this thread by the way, so it might help give him some ideas)
