View topic - Genki 1 v1 vs Genki1 v2?
What is the difference between v1 and v2? (Does it make a big difference in learning?)
I can only find v2 in Japanese, is there an English and Japanese version?
Would it be possible for me to just buy the v2 (J) and learn from that? (I doubt it, just asking here to get all my questions out.)
Should I get v1, v2 (J), or just stick with yesjapan.com until I have more money?
Also... Is v2 even out yet?

We talked about it a little there... but a better link directly to the info now is: http://genki.japantimes.co.jp/about_en/point_en
That should pretty much tell you everything you need to know.
In short, Genki I 2nd edition is already out. Genki II 2nd edition comes out some time in the next month. (It just says Sept 2011)
That link above will describe all the changes etc. I hope this helps answer your question. If not, feel free to ask more questions to clarify.
(I wasn't aware there was a "Japanese" version? It has Japanese text in it etc... but the lessons are aimed at an English speaking audience and so are described in English etc.)
http://thejapanesepage.com/forum/viewto ... 15&t=14983 <-- that will show you a preview of Genki, and the 2nd edition won't be really that different in content from what you see there. There is no "Japanese" version that I'm aware of. Just a version that teaches an English speaking audience Japanese, and thus does contain Japanese writing etc... as that's what you're learning.
