Do you have a translation question?

になれる

In the sentence: あの頃のような気持ちになれるはずもない。

I'm not quite sure how to translate 気持ちになれる

あの頃のような気持ちになれるはずもない
(You) cannot expect (me) to get used to the feelings like those of the past

Contextually he's talking about his childhood and he doesn't like being treated like a child. I'm not quite sure I translated it right, it just feels off to me.

I think maybe because I expect it to be "You cannot expect me to feel the same as I did in the past" but that kind of ignores the words ような and なれる.

You could assume the phrase “~な気持ちになる” as an equivalent of “to feel”. That’s a kind of idiom. And あの頃のような気持ち could be translated like “the feeling LIKE (I used to have) in those days”.
If you literally translate it:
(It would be impossible)(for me to)(be abele to) feel (the same) (feeling) (like) (I used to have) in those days.

Thanks!

な気持ちになる meaning "to feel" makes it easier to understand.
