Context:
A man is walking and slips on ice, falling face first. A woman next to him teases him and asks him repeatedly if he's okay. After getting up and saying he's fine, he slips again.
He says this during the above events: 大丈夫です!全然、全く大丈夫ですってばっ!辛くも何と──うあっ!
What exactly is he trying to say in 辛くも何と──? That he's barely hurt?

Thanks!
Edit: So 何と is said one when is surprised or in admiration of something.
So is he trying to say 辛くも... "I'm barely... (hurt)" and then he slips and says "何と──うあっ!" in surprise?

Well, to me, it sounds like he slips after he said 何と: Something like “I’m fine! I’m totally alright! At the last moment, thank God, I….Nooo!.”(He slips again)

Ah I see, so 何と was referring to 辛くも, he was about to explain the actions he just barely performed at the last moment.
Thanks for your continued help
