I was wondering, in this line:
何とか逃げ出せないものか

Is it "Can I not escape?" or is it "Is this something I should not escape from?"

Also, grammatically do ものか and のか function the same?

Context is always helpful, and pretty much always necessary, before translation is possible.

ものか is not equivalent to のか. もの could mean either thing or person; in some cases it can also mean a frequent tendency for something to be the case.

He's in his room when suddenly he is being called downstairs because his friend was at the door to retrieve a borrowed item, which he had broken. Fearful of being reprimanded, he said the above line.
