The Difference?
Hello
Would someone help me with understanding the difference between doko desu ka and doko ni arimasu ka?
i'm told they are different though i always hear them translated the same if i recall correctly doko= where, desu=is, am, are, and ka=? arimasu=exists, ni= location particle

There is no real difference. It's like "where is it" and "where is it located" -- (BTW, that "located" is not needed in English, but you'll still see it).
