what are you trying to say? Iv'e never seen tabemu did you mean taberu? did you mean 好き〜すき? theres alot wrong with this sentence, I think (im still a beginner) are you trying to say i do not like to eat? I hope someone else can comment on this, anyway hope that helps, if you tell me what you mean to say maybe I can tell you how to say it.

It wasn't so wrong after all, just a couple of mistypes （That's why the IME didn't automatically　recognise the kanji）

What　happened?　Did you overeat during Christmas supper and are starting a diet? Or don't you like to eat　a certain 食べ物　in particular?

Even with the corrections, it's a very strange sentence.
If you don't like eating food, what do you eat? Rocks?

If you want to say that you don't like eating, you should say something like this
私は食べることが好きではありません。

If you want to say that you don't want to eat:
私は食べたくない。

If you want to say that you can't eat (because you're full)
私は食べられるわけがない。

lol, the sentence was just an attempt at a more complex sentence. I'm very skinny so this sentence is ironic coming from me.　thanks for the help but i dont understand why theres a こと before が．thanks in advance

こと　Is used to turn verbs into noun.

You can't say 食べ物がたべるが好きです　Because this means something like "I like am eating food."

You want to say "I like (The action of) eating food." In this case "eating" is a noun. Therefore, 食べ物が食べることが好きです。

Or in your example, 食べ物が食べることが好きではありません

Remember, the verb used with こと is always in plain form.

Harisenbon, does のは　carry exactly the same function as こと？

Indeed, の and こと can be used almost interchangeably for making verbs into noun clauses. There are some exceptions though *digs out old textbooks*

The excpetions are:
の must be used with
見る
見える
聞く
聞こえる
待つ
手伝う

こと must be used with
話す
知らせる
約束する

I believe that any other time, either one is correct.

About 勉強に　なる... I have already encountered this expression before and didn't understand it. Is it equivalent to 勉強をする?
