I play guitar sometimes. I really want to excel at it, but I can get really frustrated. I think most of it is because I try and play songs that are too fast and difficult.
I guess Chop Suey is my favorite to play.

playing chop suey will not only make you frustrated, it really isn't a good song to learn on.

I know everyone wants to play the cool songs, but without a good base of chord knowledge and finger techniques, you will just make yourself crazy trying to do it.

but don't get too down.. even a 2 year old can do it..

I've been playing electric/acoustic guitar for more than five years. I play mostly acoustic because I'm good at fingerpicking. I usually use my electric guitar for solos.

I've never understood this connection between fingerpicking and acoustic guitars. What's wrong with fingerpicking the electric? I do it all the time.

Ditto.

I have both acoustic and electric guitars but as far as I'm concerned I play "guitar". I've never heard someone who plays the piano say "I play upright/baby grand piano".

I play fingerpicking sometimes on my electric but usually fingerpicking songs are played with acoustic guitars. My electric guitar has two humbuckers, it has a nice sound for playing metal or anyting with distortion but I prefer a clear acoustic sound when it comes to fingerpicking.

Guitar, Bass, and Keyboard.

Btw, I like Chop Suey, but it's not really that fun to play.

Piano and guitar...and I guess you could say bass too.

I bought myself an electronic piano here in Japan, and my guitar I got as a present for my birthday.

I've been playing guitar and piano for a little over a year. I am a punk-rock girl down to the core. :D

Zomg! Revival of ancient threads! The end days are come!
Erm.

I play irish traditional music on what we like to call an irish flute (which is to say, a keyless or simple-key system derivative of the old German flutes, from before Boehm created those silver monstrosities that orchestras use.) No matter what it looks like, I've been chided not to call it a 笛 or 笛らしい or 笛みたい but to describe it as a フルート and describe the differences from there, even though it's much more like a 笛... hnnh. Apparently it's a sensitive point for at least one person. I'd like to play a 笛 sometime since it should be physically simple for me - almost identical to the irish flute - but musically totally different since it's not keyed in any western scale.

Also I play the pennywhistle, of course, like most irish trad musicians. I also play a little piano and guitar, though they've been gathering dust for months. I've been known to make noises on a harmonica or with drums, but I can't actually play them.

I am studying how to play the violin. I managed to play Twinkle Twinkle by following a Youtube video of Alison Sparrow (her Youtube channel is theonlinepianotutor). But I am still struggling with playing all the notes and I cannot, for the life of me, tune my own violin properly.
