②ご飯を食べておいてね

which one is correct

I believe (1) says (give or take pronoun variations in different contexts) 'Why don't you eat before us', which might be similar to what you're trying to say.

I believe (2) says 'you should make sure to eat a meal', but doesn't really convey any sense of 'first'.

If by 'first' you mean 'before anything else' you want まず.
まずご飯を食べてね to follow your pattern.

ご飯 is really 'meal', though. 晩御飯・ばんごはん or 夕食・ゆうしょく would be words for dinner in particular.
