Still a little confused O_O

Postby sakura » Sat 03.19.2005 11:44 pm

Adding the tachi here both pluralizes and personifies the stars. It would be similar to saying "the stars smile down on you" in English.

Since 'tachi' is plural than can I turn 'person' into 'people' by saying 'hito-tachi'?? Or is 'tachi' only used for inanimate objects? Please reply, thanks :)

Oh and I'll remember to post in the translation board next time. I was focused on which board I was in when I was posting, sorry 'bout that :)

Tachi can be used with animate objects.
eg watashitachi / we
anatatachi / you
kodomotachi / children
otokotachi / men

I seem to be able to use Hitotachi with my Japanese teacher and he has never corrected me for it ever.
