Country in Kanji

I've noticed this before, could someone give me some country kanji? And, I have this peculiarity for our L&H Japanese translator. There was this "we" character and it looks like this:

Oh, that roughly means "The kanji won't display (lit. won't come out). (I think) posting a pic would be better".

Oh, no, Daisuke, I was addressing the original poster. He posted kanji, but it appears in those funny characters. It must be an encoding that isn't supported by the forums.

Hmm... I can't post it now... I'm typing from a seprate location. But one hiragana is read as "we." Is there a hiragana like that?

Yes, there is, but it's obsolete. It was phased out during the reforms after WWII. It looks like this: ゑ (a る with four strokes at the bottom). It used to be present in the word "koe" 声. Back then, 声 was read as こゑ (kowe) unlike today's こえ.
