The manga hasn't ended yet, so the question is still up in the air. (The anime has ended, but didn't resolve anything, since except for filler episodes it mainly follows the manga.)

wld rumiko takahashi would allow kag n inu to separate?? Kag did leave inu in an earlier episode, but she got together with him again after that... anyway, it's awful that inu always yo-yos between the 2 of them
