All correct. Just remember that in casual conversation you can drop the "desu." And, it's "ga suki." It says that you like it. wa is a topic marker, and ga is multiple things, but is used for the indirect object marker, the thing you like/eat/etc.

cool, thanks. I feel so good now that i can make simple sentences and be understood. I will be visiting my girlfriends parents sometime in may and they do not speak any english at all.

actually you could put kanojo for girlfriend but having had much contact with japanese people I do believe you would put (garufurendo).
It would be one of those katakana words.
