The best anime you have ever seen

I'm just wondering what the best anime anyone has ever seen is, and perhaps check them out at some time or another. iT doesn't have to be only one, I can take a list or two ^///^

Hmm... A lot of people at my school are crazy about Fruit Basket.... But I'm guessing that it's shojo, since the majority of them are girls. Meh that doesn't matter heh I read shojo manga all the time. Actually, I think I prefer shojo manga and anime rather than shonen... Is that bad? XD

Full metal alchemist is the best anime I have seen lately.. I used to watch hack/sign it was a okay.. But I like FMA a lot! more..

Naruto is nice.. its great to see the characters grow and get stronger.

I like Peachgirl too.. only 12 episodes... its female skewed anyway...

Shoujo Kakumei Utena, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Rose of Versailles, and Paradise Kiss are easily the best anime I've seen, and I think I'm rather picky ^^;; I was a huge fan of the Paradise Kiss manga, and I think it's anime is one of the best adaptations of a manga. Rose of Versailles is from the 80's, but I found the writing superior to most series that are out now.

And Princess Tutu is good, too. I know, the title. It scared me at first, too.

Neon Genesis, Ghost in the shell and full metal alchemist are pretty good too, but not my favorites I watch them because thats what [adult swim] airs.

I really enjoyed full metal alchemist aswell.
the best animes im watching the most at the mo are; Bleach, yakitate JAPAN!, mushishi, fate:stay/night, black cat.
waiting for tsubasa:chronicals to start up again.

i dont know whats the best because there are many i like. but one of the best is also one of the mainstream and almost everybody knows it and its old, yes its Akira.
(there were people calling me "mainstreamer" because i dont like anime "insert.ultra.1337.underground.anime.here" which nobody knows.) [- HG mode - FUUU~ xp] also liked midori no hibi, fma , elfen lied and many more ;p

Definately Elfen Lied. I'm still obsessed with it, and man does the ending leave you hanging...oh well. Mai HiME is another good one, and Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. Some good ones going on right now are Shakugan no Shana, Karin, and Black Cat...and then the regular Naruto and Bleach. The first anime I really loved and obsessed over was Fullmetal Alchemist. It was the first anime I bought, and I bought the subbed version. Thus, I started to like the japanese dubs. Still, though, Elfen Lied was definately the best so far.

I have only seen a couple anime shows, and only English dubbed. Gundam Wing, Ronin Warriors, Dragon Ball Z, and something else but I can't remember what. I haven't watched any of it in a long time, since I was probably 10 or 11. Gundam Wing was good, the other ones were ok. DBZ was reasonably ok up until after the Frieza saga ended, then it was crap.

EDIT: God, I could get a pilot's license in the time it takes for a page to load on my computer. I had to wait for the page to come up so I could edit this post and correct a spelling mistake I made and I swear, I nearly fell asleep. I live in the country, and I don't have access to high-speed internet out here.

FLCL - awesome animation in many styles,super fast super weird dialogue using loads of slang, just plain weird and excellent for it.

Cowboy Bebop - Spike.....cool as ^&*,nuff said....

Get Backers - good story,nice concept,well animated

And Akira (of course), Ghost In The Shell (the Movie.....but Prt 2 is almost completely unintelligable), Appleseed (opening CGI sequence...OMG!), Tokyo Godfathers (true story,awsome animation)
