kore, sore, are, kono, sono and ano

I understand the basic concept, that the re series means, this one, that one, and that one over there where as kono, sono and ano specifiy one. Right now, I'm relating two sentances with the partical mo. But...then I got stuck on this one.

This is my bicycle. That is my bicycle, too.

I don't know where to start. Since I can name the object I wanted to put

この　わたし　の　じてんしゃ　は　です。　その　わたし　の　じんてんしゃ も　です。　

But I wasn't sure if this was correct. I was also wondering on this sentance here:

This is a vegetable. That also is a vegetable.
(It's actually a cartoon man holding a plate of tomatoes and also pointing to a plate of carrots)

Would it be:

この　やさい　は　です。　その　やさい　も　です。

And this sentance also:

Takeshi's major is history. My major is history, too.

たけしさん　の　せんもん　は　れきし　です。　わたし　の　せんもん　も　れきし　です。


And

Mrs. Tanaka is a student at Nihon university. Mr. Yoshida is a student at Nihon University, too.

たなかさん　は　にほん　だいがく　の　がくせい　です。　よしださん　も　にほん　だいがく　の
がくせい　です。

Well...This was at first meant to be a post for help but I kind of figured it out as I typed it out. Um...so would any one be so kind as to check my work?

That one sounded strange since the 2 sentense structures don't match. Try this:

これは　わたしの　じてんしゃです。　それも　わたしの　じてんしゃです。
This is my bicycle. That is also my bicycle.

or

この　じてんしゃは　わたしのです。　その　じてんしゃも　わたしのです。
This bicycle is mine. That bicycle is also mine.

What Mukade has there is perfectly fine, trust him, he know's his stuff well. Also, just because you use kore in the first sentence, doesn't mean you can't use sono in the next, just a different way to go about things, nothing wrong with it at all.

Actually, the Japanese above says: "The truth is, Mukade doesn't understand at all."

The English text in Japanese would be, "Jitsu wa, Mukade NO POSUTO GA zenzen wakaranai kedo."

I did a project in Spanish in high school--writing and acting out "Goldilocks" for a final project. When the bears found her sleeping in Baby Bear's bed, we had Goldie jump up and cry, "Soy pan tostada!" XD My friend and I still make jokes about that~

fliprenegade: Points to remember, は　never appears next to です. Actually, someone is probably going to say, "now wait a minute, HERE's an exception!" And I'm sure that's true, but for a beginner, just think of it as a grammatical no-no.

この、その、あの、どの are all adjectives, which means they must come before a noun. However, they usually do not precede personal pronouns (like わたし、かれ、かのじょ, etc). Actually, you might この　わたし (this me) in anime or something, but it's not something you want to get in the practice of saying. You'll probably get looked at funny. (: その　わたし (that me) would probably get you even funnier looks, unless you have a clone or something.

この　やさい　は　です。　その　やさい　も　です。

This sentence sounds like you are missing something between は　and です. It translates to: "This vegetable is _____." You could say:
この　やさい　は　じゃがいも　です。 (This vegetable is a potato.)
その　やさい　も　じゃがいも　です。 (That vegetable is also a potato.)

Mukade and alram both gave you grammatically correct ways to say what you originally intended.
