I was wondering if anybody could tell me the kanji to Kobe, Japan. I already know the kanji for Japan but not for Kobe. In science class I have to make this poster about an earthquake that happened there and I want to put the kanji on it :)

神戸

Literally, "The Gods' Door."

Don't know if there's a story behind that or not. I'll try and check into it.

Keep in mind, though, that the Kobe Earthquake is called the "Osaka-Kobe Great Disaster" in Japanese:

阪神大震災 (hanshin daishinsai)
