Listening Comprehension
Are there any websites or resources online that can help with listening comprehension? I'm thinking of something along the lines of texts that have audio with them or perhaps videos in japanese with japanese subtitles.

RE: Listening Comprehension
I think movies are great for a couple of reasons:
First, having the subtitles gives you an immediate check on your comprehension.
Second, as long as you're not watching a samurai flick, you'll be exposed to real, spoken Japanese.
So much of what you'll get in textbooks can be very stilted. Many people study Japanese out of a textbook and then come to Japan only to be very surprised how different what they learned is to what they are hearing people say.
I know many people watch the news (I did, and still do), but you have to keep in mind that the news anchor uses vocabulary and grammar patterns that NO ONE ever uses in day-to-day speech. Eventually, they will be good things to learn, but not if you're just beginning.
