Anyway, if you were going to Japan you should bother to learn the language, at least some of it. It's not even worth learning phrases if you won't understand the response.

Relax, don't be so pessimistic everyone...remember 70% of human communication is by body language...so u can "say" alot by body language, gestures (although its not very convenient when u wanna sign toilets), and u can draw with pencil and paper. U could run into some kind English-speaking Japanese and be on ur way, and the most important thing is u can LEARN, I don't believe that being inundated with Japanese even for a day, u don't learn anything...so as the days go by, it might get better.

the only way am gona find how long i will survive in japan with those few words is if i tried if for real (with someone ofcourse that understansd japanese so that when things get completely hopeless my buddy can bring me home. hehehe) it would be like an experiment. problem is i cant carry out the experiment because am only 15 years old lol:D
