Sneezing in Japan

Postby jinksys » Thu 05.25.2006 12:51 pm

When someone sneezes we generally say, Gesundheit or "(god) bless you". Is there a common phrase the japanese say after you sneeze?

ps) I already know that some believe a sneeze is a sign someone is talking about you. :)

No. If anything, someone might say "Daijoubu desu ka?" but otherwise there is no response.

「お大事に」(o daiji ni) is often said as well.

Since this thread already exists elsewhere, this one is being shut down to prevent confusion.
