What does "the peace sign" mean in anime and manga? I thought it meant sailor venus, but I see it elsewhere.

Now I know it's because people do it when they want to hide the other people in the photo. Hehe!

funny, all those answers, did they ever get to the bottom of why women cover their mouths as much? it looked like a lot of foreigner speculation to me.. not much was mentioned from the japanese side.

and the lovely peace sign.. hehe, funny how something done back in 1940 or thereabouts is still used today but for no other reason than americans flashed the peace sign in pictures taken with the japanese and so now they do it too.. nothing really spectacular or mysterios about it.. conversly one could ask why do foreigners dress up in anime fashions and take pictures too.. lol.. oh well.

A lot of japanese have CTS and must hide their affliction by covering their mouths when laughing.
