Italic sucks in Japanese fonts.

Anybody know a good Japanese font that is _also_ good with the English characters?

I've found out why my まる and ばつ　(○ ×) characters weren't displaying properly - they were being interpretted by Firefox as Western characters and using my Western font settings. Which made them look crap. ^ ^;

The only solution I found was to use the same Japanese font for all western text as well. Only now the western characters look bad (particularly in italic. *sigh*

Just use MS Gothic. It's included on any windows machine that can show Japanese, and the English side of it looks like a normal English font.

Hmm, yes, that is rather better than ＭＳ 明朝.
